Pierre Finkelstein is recognized worldwide as a superior craftsman and master in the art of faux painting, creating faux finishes for internationally acclaimed interior designers and architects that can be seen in some of the most beautiful homes in the United States and Europe. A 1986 graduate of the Van Der Kellen Painting Institute in Brussels, he was awarded the distinguished title of Best Craftsman ff France in 1990. Pierre is director and instructor at the Pierre Finkelstein Institute of Decorative Painting, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Professional Decorative Painters Association. He specializes in high-end residential projects and museums. Pierre's latest works include decorative finishes for all of the decorative art rooms at the Getty Art Museum in Los Angeles, 25 pedestals done in antique faux marble for their sculpture department, and residential clients such as B. Gates, L. Wexner, M. Drexler, and I. & G. Cantor Fitzgerald, L. Kimmel, M. Bon Jovi, F. Baron, D. Koch, along with the Snider Gulf Stream Airplane. He is the best selling author of the books The Art of Faux, and Recipes for Surfaces.
